Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Bergler

Prof. Dr. Bergler completed his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a strong focus on Mechanical Engineering, followed by a Master's degree in Computer Science and Automation at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH-AW). Following his studies, he gained industry experience as a software engineer, working on the development of simulation and communication systems for air traffic control training.

He subsequently earned his doctorate with highest distinction at the Pattern Recognition Lab (PRL, Department of Computer Science) at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), addressing advanced machine learning approaches, particularly modern deep learning methods, for complex multimodal biological signal processing.

Following the completion of his doctorate, he was appointed as a full-time Professor at OTH Amberg-Weiden, where he contributes to teaching and research, while maintaining strong collaborations with industry partners both regionally and beyond, all within the field of artificial intelligence.

He is Co-Founder and CEO of OrasTEC and is responsible for the overall strategic, technological, and scientific direction of the company. His role includes the identification and evaluation of high-impact use cases, the design of system architectures, and the definition of end-to-end solution strategies across the full AI-Lifecycle. He leads the conceptual development of projects, ensures alignment between business objectives and technical feasibility, and oversees the translation of complex requirements into scalable, implementation-ready AI-Systems.

B.Eng. Fabian Bernklau

Fabian Bernklau is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence (M.Sc.) at OTH Amberg-Weiden, where he previously completed his Bachelor's degree in Media Technology. His Bachelor's thesis addressed prompt optimization for image generation by means of machine-to-machine translation – an LLM-based prompt optimizer for improving prompts for Stable Diffusion.

He gained practical experience in the conception and implementation of AI prototypes for internal workflows, among them a knowledge retrieval assistant (RAG) for internal document search as well as a computer vision pipeline for the automated detection of defects in industrial components.

At Porsche AG, he developed machine learning and GenAI solutions within enterprise-wide cloud environments during an internship, aimed at optimizing internal processes and decision-making. He is currently writing his Master's thesis there on “Deep Learning-Based Automation of Automotive Crash Analysis: A Multimodal End-to-End Approach” while supporting OrasTEC GmbH as a student AI research assistant in parallel.
